Frequently Asked Questions
What is the current estimated wait time?
As of 28th January 2025, new clients can be booked within a month. You can often get an appointment earlier if you can be flexible with short notice and replace anyone who reschedules their appointment. Please contact dion@easternbeachespsychology.com.au to let him know your needs.
Best way to book a session or ask questions?
Due to the nature of my work, the best way to get in contact is via the contact form on the ‘contact’ page or you can send an email directly to dion@easternbeachespsychology.com.au. I am happy to arrange a free 15-minute phone consult, arrange a booking at the next available time that suits you or answer any questions you may have either via email or over the phone. Reaching out for support can be challenging and I hope that the free 15-minute phone consult helps to discuss any ambivalence you might have or to see if I might be the right fit for working with you.
How much does therapy cost?
Out of pocked costs for therapy depend on your eligibility for medicare rebates and/or your private health insurance:
The Australian Psychological Society’s recommended rate for a standard 45-60 minute session is $300. My fees are set below this rate at $260.
With a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP), out of pocket session fees are $118.15 as medicare provides a rebate of $141.85 for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. Please discuss with your GP for details and access to a MHTP to access your medicare rebate. Please contact your private health insurer for details on private health cover.
Fees for clinical supervision are $220 (Inclusive of GST).
